The artwork in this series combines the pictorial and design aspects of painting and drawing with a connection to traditional craft materials and processes. I draw on the surface of hand-dyed silk or cotton, using small hand stitching which, from a distance, implies space; while closer inspection reveals detailed handwork.
My work maintains a mutable quality; changing with each viewing dependent upon the time of day, quality of light, and the viewer‘s position in relation to the piece.
